Karol Espejo, LCSW

Karol Espejo, LCSW, is the founder and owner of CARE Therapy Center, a private practice serving adults across New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. She specializes in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, depression, and complex relational patterns, with a particular focus on women of color and those experiencing intergenerational trauma or major life transitions.


Karol’s therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and insight-oriented work to help clients build emotional safety, strengthen self-trust, and create meaningful, lasting change. She is especially passionate about supporting clients as they explore identity, set boundaries, heal emotionally, and move toward values-aligned growth.


Grounded in cultural humility and a deep commitment to mental health equity, Karol is dedicated to expanding access to culturally responsive care within the Latino community. As a Latina clinician, she understands the importance of representation in therapeutic spaces and strives to create environments where clients feel seen, understood, and empowered.


In addition to her clinical work, Karol brings extensive experience in leadership, program development, and community engagement across school-based settings, nonprofit organizations, and private practice. She approaches collaborative initiatives with a thoughtful, systems-oriented lens and is committed to strengthening community resources that uplift Latino individuals and families.


Karol holds a Master of Social Work from The Catholic University of America, a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Georgetown University.
