Kimberly Ortiz-Samayoa, LSW is a licensed social worker in New Jersey specializing in trauma-informed care. Her work centers on adolescents and survivors of community violence & complex trauma, with additional clinical experience supporting individuals navigating PMDD.
Kim is a bilingual clinician at HERO Counseling Center in Ridgewood, NJ, where she provides therapy to adolescents while also leading the practice’s social media strategy and digital presence. She is also a clinician with the Puerto Rican Action Board (PRAB, Inc.) as part of the Hospital Violence Intervention Program at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, offering ongoing therapeutic support to individuals impacted by trauma and violence.
Beyond her clinical work, Kimberly dabbles in social media management for mental health professionals, supporting clinicians and organizations in building authentic, and culturally aligned online platforms that expand access to mental health education and services.
During graduate school, Kim founded Unidas Juntas, a mental health initiative for young Latinas in New Brunswick that provided free, accessible group therapy for Latina adolescents. She also serves as Vice President of the Young Latinx Leadership Committee in partnership with Inspírame Latina, collaborating with emerging leaders to amplify Latinx voices, strengthen leadership pipelines, and advance pathways toward generational growth and upward mobility.
Outside of work, Kimberly balances her professional drive with personal passions. She’s an avid traveller (12 countries and counting), pilates and aerial hoop enthusiast, book lover, proud cat mom, and cozy gamer.
